Cressing Temple farmhouse and barns

Situated in the centre of Essex close to the A12 and A120, Cressing Temple makes an excellent stop-off on a historic or mystery tour of our fair county. As a coach tour operator you will be delighted at the facilities we offer to your clients and the ease of access for your drivers - almost unlimited free parking!

Once a Queen's gift to the mysterious Knights Templar, Cressing Temple is now owned by Essex County Council and open to the public. With its magnificent medieval barns and Tudor Walled Garden set amongst glorious countryside, Cressing Temple is a delightful and fascinating place to visit.

Come and take a look at your medieval past…

Templars in the Barley Barn

Cressing Temple boasts two of the most spectacular medieval barns in Europe, a beautiful Tudor Walled Garden and a host of other fascinating historic buildings.

The site is also rich in wildlife. The moats provide a haven for great crested newts, mallards and moorhens. Also new to the site this year 2007, keep an eye out for our working falcons.

A large visitor centre houses a well-stocked Gift Shop and the Templars' Tearoom. We serve light lunches and afternoon tea, open from 11am-4pm.

There is free dedicated coach parking outside the tearoom.
