Cressing Temple Falconer
Michael Simmons - Cressing Temple Falconer.

The falconry demonstrations feature a host of exciting medieval birds, from the Kites that plagued the market places of Medieval Britain to the highly valued Falcons of the Kings

The show is aimed at the whole family, with characters including Monty the Merlin, Rose the Saker Falcon, Singfield the Peregrine Falcon, Fennel, Thyme and Sage the Black Kites, Dinaky the Kestrel and Lui the Little Owl.

The demonstrations take place in a seated arena at 2pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and non-event Sundays, from Easter to the end of September. Each demonstration is accompanied by a full commentary, which is set against a background of atmospheric music. The show lasts half an hour, and is followed by a question and answer session with the falconer.

On exclusive days the falconry demonstration is performed on horseback evoking the hunts of the middle ages. This year it is on Sunday the 15th of June 2008.
